Jonathan Plowright has been described as ’one of the finest living pianists’ by Gramophone magazine. Gold Medallist at the RAM, Peabody Conservatory Concours winner and a Fulbright Scholar, after his studies Jonathan was a prize-winner in many competitions, including Gold Medal First Prize Winner of the Royal Overseas League Competition, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Awards and the European Piano Competition. Since then he has been in demand all over the world as recitalist, and appeared with leading conductors, orchestras and ensembles. Jonathan has become an advocate of neglected Polish2016 Rhinegold credit Ceri Wood Romantic music, and his pioneering recordings and performances have confirmed him as a master of this repertoire. He has been on the distinguished piano roster of Hyperion Records for many years and has released a string of 13 successful CDs. He has received many prestigious accolades, been nominated for an International Classical Music Award, and In August 2017 Jonathan will release his first CD on the Warner Classics label. He is also recording the complete Brahms solo piano works attracting many ‘Editor Choice’ awards and 5* reviews. Jonathan is also a keen educator, and is currently a member of the Keyboard Faculty at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

The programme will include Bach/Busoni Chorale Preludes BWV659 & BWV639, works by Chopin and Paderewski, Mozart Variations KV265 and Schumann’s Carnaval Op.9
